Miller leads comeback surge but falls short; ends Guangdong career with runner-up finish in Fuzhou; Shenzhen home debut countdown begins

On August 17, the Fuzhou Regional Finals of the 2025 Super Three League concluded at the Fuzhou Strait Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium. Guangdong Career Team advanced through the tournament, facing Nanchang Kaizirui Trading in the championship game. Ultimately, they fell just one point short to their opponents, securing second place in this event.
On the opening day (16th) of group play, Guangdong Career defeated Nanhai Long Lions 21-15 in their first match. Miller was on fire, scoring 12 points on 10-of-12 shooting while grabbing 9 rebounds. In the second game against Shandong Dong'e Ejiao, Miller maintained his efficiency, racking up 13 points to lead his team to a 22-13 victory. However, in the third match against Shanghai Jiushijie, the team couldn't withstand the opponent's fierce offensive push in the final stretch, ultimately falling 17-18 and missing out on a perfect group stage record.








The next day's semifinal saw them face Haishu Jieying. Through relentless team defense, Miller and “Duck” took turns attacking the rim, ultimately securing a 20-17 victory to advance to the finals. In the game statistics: Zhou Jiahao recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 block; Miller contributed 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals; Lin Siyang added 3 points and 1 steal; and Gao Yufeng chipped in with 2 points and 1 rebound.

In the final match against Nanchang Kaizirui Trading, the opponents started with red-hot shooting, quickly jumping out to a 4-0 lead. The Career Team refused to fall behind, with Zhou Jiahao scoring inside and out to lead a 5-0 run that put them ahead. The game then became tightly contested, with the score seesawing back and forth. At a critical moment, Miller sank a long-range shot in the final minute to tie the score at 15-15. In the decisive moment, Nanchang Kaizhi Trading's Lasius finished the play under the basket, sealing Guangdong Career's narrow 15-16 loss and securing second place in this tournament.

Following the conclusion of the Fuzhou Regional Tournament, the Guangdong Career Team will shift focus to their home turf in Shenzhen to prepare for the Shenzhen Longhua Regional Tournament on August 23-24.
